Anita Tanay
Bio
A daughter of immigrants, Anita was taught at an early age that the law, used correctly, could be a tool to help protect vulnerable people. That led her, at the age of 10, to make two important decisions: that she would be a lawyer, and that she would work with and for working people. That led to her professional goal: to represent labor unions. Anita has been fortunate enough to realize that goal for over 40 years. Beginning in 1980, she has represented a wide range of private and public sector unions, in the transit, construction and education sectors. Her work has included contract negotiations, unfair labor practice proceedings, arbitrations, and advising on pension and legislative matters. Anita was honored to serve as General Counsel for Amalgamated Transit Union Local 308 from 2018 through 2025.
Now of counsel to the firm, Anita is excited to continue serving working people alongside such a talented and dedicated group of lawyers.
