Emily O’Neill
Bio
Emily focuses her practice on traditional labor law. Her commitment to the labor movement dates back to her work with immigrant communities and Chicago workers centers, where she saw firsthand the far-reaching impact collective action in the workplace has, not just on individual workers and their families, but on their broader communities. The role unions play in providing workers with a collective voice, strengthening community ties, and even increasing civic and political engagement inspired Emily to move halfway across the country to become a union organizer. The courage of workers standing up together to advocate for safer workplaces, fair wages, and greater economic security solidified her decision to pursue a career in labor law.
Emily started her legal career with the National Labor Relations Board, where she served in various roles, including drafting Board decisions as counsel to various Board members, investigating and litigating unfair labor practices, and overseeing the Agency’s regional offices. The opportunity afforded her the privilege to serve the public while gaining a strong foundation in traditional labor law. Ultimately, Emily’s heart is in advocacy and her desire to support workers in all aspects of their employment led her to join the firm in 2026.
Emily brings to her practice a strong understanding of the real‑world challenges workers face and a firm belief in the role collective action plays in building more equitable workplaces and communities. She is dedicated to representing clients with care, integrity, and a deep respect for organized labor’s role in promoting social and economic justice. Emily is fluent in Spanish.
Emily’s three young children keep her busy. Emily and her family enjoy spending as much time outdoors as possible, whether hiking, biking, canoeing, paddleboarding, camping, or just hanging out with friends and neighbors at their local farmer’s market.
