Elisa has been fighting for workers’ rights since she joined Berkeley Law’s Workers’ Rights Clinic the fall semester of her first year of law school.  She strongly believes in the power of collective action to build worker power and improve workers’ lives, and has dedicated her career to supporting these goals.

Elisa advises public and private-sector labor unions on a wide range of matters, including collective bargaining negotiations, members’ rights under the collective bargaining agreement, and compliance with state and federal law.  Elisa also represents unions in a number of forums, including the Illinois Labor Relations Board, state court, federal court, and arbitration.  In addition, Elisa works with the firm’s pension and health and welfare fund practice in matters like compliance with state and federal law, administering benefits, and general litigation.  While maintaining a broad practice, Elisa also specializes in advising and representing firefighter unions in Illinois.

Elisa is a lifelong Chicago-area native with the exception of her three years in Berkeley, California.  When asked why she returned to the weather-challenged city of Chicago, Elisa proudly proclaims that Chicago is her home, not to mention the home of the best improv comedy scene and the only beach in the middle of a city.  Outside of work, Elisa is a member of the Jewish Council on Urban Affairs and the National Lawyers’ Guild Labor and Employment Committee.
